Why a second offer to retrieve lost money needs careful checking. These patterns are indicators for careful checking, not a way to determine a specific person’s conduct without evidence.

Information may be recycled

Names and loss details can circulate between fraud operations or be inferred from public posts. Familiar details do not authenticate a caller.

Authority may be imitated

A person may claim to represent a regulator, police service, law firm or recovery organisation. Verify independently with official contact information.

No fee unlocks a guaranteed result

Promises of funds already recovered and demands for tax or release payments are warning signs. Do not send further money under pressure.

If a payment has already been made, contact the relevant provider using its official contact details and preserve the original records.
