Questions to ask when an investment offer relies on artificial intelligence or automation. These patterns are indicators for careful checking, not a way to determine a specific person’s conduct without evidence.

Technical language is not evidence

Terms such as AI, algorithmic or quantum may be used as marketing. Ask for independently verifiable information about the firm, product, risks and custody of funds.

Guaranteed performance is a warning sign

Automated trading involves risk. Claims of consistent or risk-free returns should prompt independent checks, not urgency.

Check authorisation carefully

Use the relevant regulator’s official register and match the exact entity and domain. A cloned identity or copied registration number can mislead.

If a payment has already been made, contact the relevant provider using its official contact details and preserve the original records.
