Start with your financial provider

Tell the bank, card issuer, exchange or payment service what happened. Ask what internal fraud process applies and keep the case reference.

Report to an official authority

Find the police or national fraud reporting service through the government or police website for your country. The right route depends on where you live and the type of incident.

Give a clear account

Use dates, payment references, recipient details and original communications. Separate confirmed information from suspicions. Do not exaggerate or guess to fill gaps.

If you have just transferred money, contact your bank or payment provider through its official channel as soon as possible. No recovery outcome can be guaranteed.
