Use a trusted route

Call using the number on your card or statement, or use the provider’s official app or website. Avoid links and numbers supplied by an unexpected caller.

Explain the payment clearly

Give the date, amount, payment method and recipient details. Say why you believe it relates to fraud and ask whether any stop, recall, dispute or account-security process is available.

Record what happens

Ask for a reference and note the advice given. Options and time limits vary by payment type, provider and country; a request does not guarantee reimbursement.

If you have just transferred money, contact your bank or payment provider through its official channel as soon as possible. No recovery outcome can be guaranteed.
